SOME MODELS OF
AIRCRAFT USED AT AEROFLOT The TU-154 embodies all the best
qualities of Russian jet-propelled aircraft: speed, distance, economy in mid-range
flights, and quality take-offs and landings. The number of seats in the cabin easily
converts from 132 to 156. While maintaining all safety standards, its design details
significantly reduce the weight of the liner.
The IL-62 was engineered for long-range flights and first took to
the air 30 years ago. It is comfortable, easy to fly, and economical. It has several
modifications. It earned its irreproachable reputation in Trans-Siberian flights: the
shortest and most advantageous route between Western Europe and Japan. It has also set
many world records. This was the plane that was used to complete the non-stop flight along
Chkalov's legendary route from Moscow to the U.S. over the North pole. Soviet aviationists
were present at the dedication of a monument to Chkalov's crew in Seattle. Aeroflot opened
the way for new routes to the Americas with the IL-62. The IL-62 has proven to be one of
the safest aircraft in the world. It is now being gradually replaced by the new A-310 and
Boeing-767.
The
IL-86 was the first domestic wide-bodied aircraft. It was
introduced in 1980 for the participants and spectators of the XXII Olympic Games in
Moscow. Its navigational equipment allows flights to be made under any weather conditions,
regardless of the season or time of day.
The
IL-96 is the airplane of the new generation. Thanks to this
plane, non-stop flights have become possible on routes connecting Russia with America, the
Middle and Far East, and countries of the Southern Hemisphere. The Moscow - New York
flight began to run regularly in 1993. The foremost ideas were applied in the construction
of this aircraft and its systems and equipment. It is capable of carrying passengers for
distances up to 11 thousand kilometers. Its wide fuselage (more than six meters)
guarantees the comfort of its passengers, increasing the space between seats.
New modifications were made with the express intent of
providing a high level of comfort to 235 passengers, their baggage, mail, and cargo over
distances reaching 13 thousand kilometers. Various on-board equipment and a pleasant
interior guarantee comfort even on the longest of flights and to the most distant
destinations.
The A-310, as is the case with all Airbus Industry aircraft, was
specifically designed to meet the needs of airlines and provide unique operational
advantages. In its 20 years, the A-310 has become the most profitable 300-seat liner in
the world, as well as the most popular wide-bodied airplane. It has a spacious,
comfortable cabin, providing passengers on long flights with the most varied forms of
entertainment and communications.
The Boeing-767 is used by Aeroflot on long-distance flights. The
first model was built in 1981. Since then, more than 500 of these comfortable liners have
been turned out.
This was the first airplane that was constructed with a new
stronger, lighter material. The most baggage per passenger can be stowed on the
Boeing-767; it holds the world record for this. It also holds the record for the longest
flight of a civilian twin-engined jet-propelled airplane: 14,890 kilometers.
The Boeing-777 is used by Aeroflot on long-distance flights.
